Zeus (grandfather) is absolutely the tallest English Mastiff (his back is taller than a kitchen counter) I have every put my eyes on. At first glance, you are shocked by his remarkable height (and his head is even bigger). Most mastiffs are big but he is even big for a mastiff; about 275 pounds. Not only is he tall but he is very, very smart and show quality. He can open every door in the house if he wants to do so. However, if you ask him to stay in his area he will.  

 

Zeus is very good with people and his beautiful fawn color makes him an astounding dog. Unlike the females, most male mastiffs are laid back. Males are usually friends with everyone. They are so big that very little concerns them. Other creatures are “non issues”. They know they are the king of all critters and they are so confident that they have no need to prove it. Besides, proving it would take effort and they are not ambitious.
